1935 Darrow/Parker Brothers Hybrid Game

When Darrow sold the rights to Parker Brothers (PB) in early 1935, he had approximately 5,000 sets of his Second Generation game ready to go to market. These sets were turned over to Parker Brothers, and since PB did not want to lose market momentum, they used Darrow's sets, put a PB Trade Mark label on the Board and inserted the first PB Trade Mark instructions in the small black box. The label had NO RED BORDER and is the only time PB did this. All the other components remained the same until PB started the manufacture of its Trade Mark series. The term Hybrid Game is a collectors term and not a PB term. It is also thought that once the Parker Brothers Trade Mark Boxes hit the market, all the remaining Darrow Boxes and Boards were destroyed.
